Creating a solid foundation for future learning

The Early Years and Primary Years Courses at MTLGS are designed to lay the foundations for a love of lifelong learning. Through our child-centered approach, your child will be given the opportunity to drive their own learning and follow their interests, whilst developing key strengths and abilities. Your child will be engaged in play-based experiences that allow them to make connections to what they don’t know, what they already know and encouraged to ask questions, reflect, and update their understanding of society and the world around them.

What does the typical day at MTLGS look like?

A typical day at MTLGS (Japan) is filled with engaging, hands-on movements and physical activities, experiential learning, developing students’ academic outcomes, nurturing core human values and building real-life skills.
Students are active participants in their own learning and they are inspired to question, experiment and engage with global challenges through inquiry, action and reflection.
Our experienced management and teachers design activities and environments that are engaging, dynamic, nurturing and rich with creative learning opportunities.
The course empowers your child to see knowledge as an interconnected whole and encourages them to make practical connections between their studies and the real world, while at the same time using their mind and bodies in physical activities that help build and set-up these connections in their minds.

Early Years (Pre K to KG 2 - Ages 3-5)

Each day brings a variety of exciting learning experiences related to the following developmental areas:

Safe and welcoming place to learn

Providing an engaging, developmentally appropriate and safe learning environment that supports each child’s natural curiosity is integral to everything we do at MTLGS.

We recognise and value that your child’s emotional and social well-being is shaped from a very early age. We also know that your child is most likely to become a confident learner when in an environment in which they feel secure to express themselves without fear of judgement.

We create this safe space in our kindergarten classes (Pre-K – KG2) by trying to limit class sizes to around 8 students with a main teacher who will get to know your child and tailor activities to their individual needs to bring out the best in them. We might also add an additional teaching assistant to the class to assist the main teacher, at our discretion if and when we think it is necessary.

Vibrant and engaging learning environment

Equipped with facilities and numerous resources that were designed with younger children in mind and is created to provide them with accessible and engaging spaces in which to flourish. Our Early Years teacher works in a supportive team that continually responds to every child’s evolving hunger for new knowledge and interests. Our teaching team creates and adapts the classroom and surrounding environment to generate higher levels of engagement and reflect the children’s shared ownership of the learning spaces.

We provide our Early Years students with a holistic learning experience that integrates social, emotional, physical and cognitive development. Our learners are engaged in stimulating inquiry-based curriculum. We provide learning experiences that are meaningful, inclusive and multi-sensory, in order to raise your child’s natural curiosity and interests through a number of engaging units of inquiry.
